Thanks to ISF (Incremental Sheet Forming) 3D technology it is now possible to manufacture metal sheet parts with complex forms for prototypes or short runs, freed from the usual need for large investment in expensive moulds or dies for the shaping of metal sheet by means of stamping or press forging processes.
This technology, although it has been with us for some time, is now gaining in relevance and potential by fitting in perfectly with present and future market trends, which demand the manufacture of products in shorter runs, products with a high degree of customisation to adapt to the specific needs of each client, or for pilot launch runs to assess market acceptability.
It is also possible to use ISF to manufacture moulds for short runs of parts manufactured with composites or by means of rotational moulding, for example.
Meco has created a new generation of machines designed to drive the implementation of ISF technology in industry into which Eurecat has unloaded its experience in the application of ISF technology to various products and sectors. Combining the know-how of EURECAT and MECO has resulted in this machine model.
The first model to emerge from this collaboration is the MEC-ISF-3000-2100, which contributes the flexibility of being able to manufacture both small-sized parts and large ones, using sheets of up to 3000x2100 mm, with a maximum mould size of 2800x1900x500 mm (length x width x height).
This model incorporates an automatic tool changer, which considerably increases the design possibilities of parts to be manufactured.
All of our ISF machines come with a training process for the use of the machine and transfer of ISF technology know-how, so that the company team will be totally self-sufficient from the first day.
